SPRING 2004

BLOSSOM, SECLUDED & SECRET GARDEN

The Blossom group is delicate, romantic and feminine, ideally suited to spring and summer beach or garden wedding. Three different whites (crushed sheers, organza and hammered satin) overlay and float away. The tops have long soft ties attached with soft rosebuds to allow gentle shaping at the waist.

The Blossom Layer skirt and the Palazzo pant have floating multi colored silk petals, soft leaves and vines barely visible through a wispy overlay.  The jacket is blush colored with a soft floating collar and cuffs, and pearl beaded ties attached with hand dyed and embossed velvet leaves.  The crushed skirt is also blush colored with a sheer white drape attached with the embossed velvet leaves.

The shell is hammered satin with real seed pearls and tiny embroidered buds decorating the square neck.

The Secluded and Secret Garden groups are built around a soft iridescent green crushed fabric with pale gold reflections and a little stretch.  The collar and cuffs and skirt bottom are two different sheer colors with small embroidered flowers and silk leaves floating in between.

MEMORIES & CITRUS
The Memories group is built around the concept of faded memories and the way a scrap of fabric or a bead can remind us of a pleasant time and place.  The three fabrics are a soft green and natural fine stripe in a crinkled rayon, a pleated complex but soft floral medallion print, and a soft fine brushed cotton knit with an enlarged butterfly and floral print.

The jacket collar is a collage of ‘memories’ with tiny embroidered flowers and pretty fabric pieces interspersed with beads, silk ivy leaves and romantic lace. The closures include a photograph of a teacup and a shell butterfly button. The jacket cuff is permanently rolled with a rosebud and velvet leaves.

This fresh lime green jacket, shell and skirt are crushed to bring out the iridescent reflective quality of the fabric and add comfortable stretch and shaping to the garments.

In the Citrus group the photograph on the jacket is a Klimt painting with a beautiful lady with upswept hair, an Asian fan and painted screen. The collar is embroidered dark green satin with bronze metallic embroidery, and the pocket is a lime green dragonfly jacquard with a dark green metal and silk edge.

The skirt bottom is a double row of interlocking sheer roses in two colors. These same roses hold the rolled cuff on the jacket. The back of the skirt has a slit with a dark green metal and silk rose. The shell has the same dark green metal and silk at the neck edge.

ETCHING – CATCHER
This group is built around a black and white print with scribble and scratch lines like a free form printmaker’s etching.

The plain fabrics are a black stretch slinky with a fine wavy edge, and an open weave linen and rayon blend in a natural ‘rye’ color (as in Catcher in the Rye).  The dragonflies have iridescent lace overlaid off-center on the wings to simulate movement, and green iridescent eyes.  The buttons are hand made, glazed black with hand drawn wax resist designs to show the white clay underneath.
