The Bronze Frond Jacket is a beautiful ‘cut-out’ embroidery jacket using nine Fall colors of silken threads. Climbing vines and flowers make it an ideal jacket for a Fall garden wedding or special occasion.
It is shown over a Crushed Rayon Dress in Black.
This original design has a bottom edge of floating cut-out Fushia ‘stargazer’ flowers which allow the color of the skin and the color of the dress to appear ‘inside’ the embroidery on the jacket. The jacket works well any darker or earthy color.
The neck band, sides, and the cuffs of the three quarter sleeves are a bronze 100% Dupioni silk. The cuffs are edged with a golden bronze metallic pleated fabric.
The closure is a soft corded tie with pretty leaf details on the ends. The ties are attached to the front bands with an asymmetrical pair of beaded flowers.
Both the embroidery and the jacket design are exclusive to Lee Andersen.
Care: Cover with a damp cloth to press. The silk sides can handle a range of temperatures but the embroidered panels cannot! Do not expose the embroidered fabric to a hot dry iron. It will form a wrinkly hole and be un-repairable without replacing the whole panel. Oh No!
Minor Alterations: Put the jacket on ‘inside out’. Close the ties from the inside. Pin with small gold safety pins along the side seams starting at the high waist. Gently move your arms into a hugging position! Can you still hug? Hugging is going to happen!
