This stunning jacket is named for the Scottish National Flower which is beautiful but prickly. It’s said that the lowly thistle saved Scottish soldiers from a British invasion. The Brits thought they would sneak up on the sleeping Scotsman by taking off their shoes, they didn’t think about the prickly thistles that lay beneath the fog on the ground. When they hollered in pain from stepping on the painful plants, it alerted the Scots to the incoming attack and they jumped to meet their invaders, thus elevating this lowly “weed” to its stately plane.
Today we elevate it once again in a beautiful embroidery on a field of snowy fleece, surrounded by lavender ribbed knit on this cozy, color blocked jacket. In brilliant patches of textured lilacs, lavenders, creams and olive greens, this jacket nips in at the waist and slightly flares at the hip in a “Skater” jacket style. The front placket, cuffs and collar are a soft, fluffy cream fleece that will have you wanting to snuggle deep into the collar.
Velvety Lilac flowers line the front and embellish the cuffs for an extra feminine detail. It has hook and eye closures and, of course, POCKETS!
