The Water Lily Bolero was created from Lee’s colored pencil drawing of the water plants and lilies blooming in her lily pond. It is a great choice for a person who wears pastel colors well.
The multicolored cut out embroidery on an iridescent water color background looks different over every pastel color. Change the color of the dress or shell and pant or skirt and that color shows through the cut outs in the embroidery.
It is ideal for a Mother of the Bride or Mother of the Groom or even a stylish and fortunate Grandmother of the Bride or Grandmother of the groom who is attending a grandchild’s wedding.
The main body, center back and outsides of the sleeves show a complex embroidery in nine delicate colors. The sides and 3/4 length (18″) sleeves are water colored dupioni silk. The closure is an artistically asymmetrical collage of sequin and embroidered flowers and velvet leaves concealing a hook and eye.
