Before my arrival on Earth, I studied human comedians. Einstein is one of my favorites. His theories on ‘relativity’ are charmingly naïve but he is held in some esteem by Lee Andersen and her husband, Al. The statue of Einstein in the District of Columbia, is one of Al’s favorite statues.
I am not sure I am better off understanding Lee from the inside of her brain than Al is from the outside…
Back to the subject of Persistence…
Lee believes Einstein said “genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration”. Lee agrees. For her, being an artist is mostly hard work and persistence.
She has the quote on Persistence, by the 30th President, Calvin Coolidge, on her wall. Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
