COMPLEMENTS WITH LIGHT AND DARK

According to information I have found inside Lee’s head, complements, presented on the opposite side of the color wheel, can also be more subtly defined as belonging on their own matching ring of the wheel. The Complement of blue is orange. The complement of navy (blue with some black added) is a warm orange brown or orange with some black added. The complement of lilac, or a light blue purple, is a pale yellow orange. For an even stronger contrast or dramatic effect, Lee suggests hopping out of the ring and choose a light and a dark color while still selecting from the opposite of the color wheel. Lee also suggests that when choosing an accent color to be placed on a dark ‘ground,’ the lighter the color the more the eye goes to it, so a smaller amount will still have a big impact

Did I explain that well, for an alien? Yes? Thank you for the compl-i-ment!
